KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The shooter who killed 3 law enforcement officers in Baton Rouge has been identified by Louisiana State Police as Gavin Long. 57-year-old Jay Preston, a church pastor, has been charged for sexually molesting a child. On Monday, he was charged with felony aggravated indecent liberties with a child. His bond was set at $500,000 for which he is still in jail. Kansas man sentenced to more than 8 years for child sex crime

MARION – On Thursday, 55-year-old Gary Dwain Williams was sentenced to more than eight years in jail for one count of rape of an individual less than 14 years of age, told Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. He was summoned to Marion County District Court and was ordered to serve 97.5 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections by Judge Michael Powers. He was also sentenced to lifetime registration as a sex offender and lifetime post release supervision. Williams pleaded guilty to the offense he committed in March. 15-year-old Overland boy fatally shot himself while taking selfie

OVERLAND – On Friday, 15-year-old DaMontez fatally shot himself in the chest as he was attempting to take a selfie when he accidently pressed the trigger of the gun. According to the police, the teen died because of his mistake. No other individual was involved in the case. He suffered a wound on his right upper chest and the shooting has been ruled an accident. Overland Park woman admits to stealing thousands in large-scale clothing case

On Tuesday, 46-year-old Kelli Bauer accepted her wrongdoing that she stole thousands of dollars in clothing from area retailers. She was charged in 2015 when the cops searched her home where she had a large amount of stolen merchandise. WICHITA, Kan. – Alex Robinson, a former Wichita school safety supervisor, has been sentenced for child sex crime after he was accused of molesting boys in Kansas and similar offenses in Colorado. 19-year-old Marquise Stokes has been ordered to stand trial in the killing of 18-year-old Velik Henderson during an attempted robbery that was planned last summer in Overland Park.
