42-year-old KC man accused of raping woman in Overland Park

42-year-old Dereje Gebremariam of Kansas City has been charged with kidnapping and raping a woman in Overland Park after picking her up from downtown Kansas City. He said to the couple that he is an Uber driver. It is shown by the court documents that on 7th of August, Gebremariam picked up a couple at the Power & Light District. Eastern Kansas church pastor accused of child sex crime

57-year-old Jay Preston, a church pastor, has been charged for sexually molesting a child. On Monday, he was charged with felony aggravated indecent liberties with a child. His bond was set at $500,000 for which he is still in jail. According to Miami County Attorney, Elizabeth Sweeney-Reeder, the charges are linked to an incident that occurred earlier this month in rural Miami County. Kansas man sentenced to more than 8 years for child sex crime

MARION – On Thursday, 55-year-old Gary Dwain Williams was sentenced to more than eight years in jail for one count of rape of an individual less than 14 years of age, told Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. He was summoned to Marion County District Court and was ordered to serve 97.5 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections by Judge Michael Powers. He was also sentenced to lifetime registration as a sex offender and lifetime post release supervision. Williams pleaded guilty to the offense he committed in March.
