Former army officer arrested in Overland Park for illegally possessing grenades

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – According to the police, explosives were found on Thursday night in a house near 116th and Hauser Street.

FOX 4’s crew present on the scene told that a bomb squad and authorities with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were called at the house. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also there to investigate the case.

The spokesman said that police officers arrested an individual and took him to jail. He may be charged with criminal use of explosives.

The cops confirmed that there is no need to worry as there is no threat to the neighborhood, but the case is still under investigation.

Further details are not available, but are expected to be released on Friday.
